Glencore plc is the largest commodities trading and extracting firm worldwide. The group extracts and trades in over 90 different resources, among them copper, zinc, aluminium, ferro alloys, nickel, iron ore, coal, oil and agriculture. It is active in over 150 mines, metallurgical sites, oil production assets, farms and agricultural facilities. Divided in over 90 offices in more than 50 countries, Glencore employs around 200'000 people.
At the stock market launch in 2011, the assets of the six top-managers of Glencore was higher than the gross domestic product of the 96 poorest countries in the world during the same year.
